MSD meets with New Jersey-based EPMedSystems, Inc. website redesign team on a conference call. The current EPMedSystems website is reviewed (see below), and EPMedSystems makes the following improvements required in the new MSD website redesign:
- Website is to be brighter and more open, with more white space and a modern look/layout.
- EPMedSystems product line is to be better highlighted.
- Opening page is to be dynamic with animation and sections where new content and promotions can easily be updated.
- The website's 'Investor Relations' section, which is currently oursourced and on another company's web server, is to pulled back onto the EPMedSystem web server and be programmed as part of the new website.
With these requirememts set, MSD proceeded to put together website design concepts. |

2 weeks:
Concept
phase:
first drafts |
|
MSD provides the five above designs to the client. These are flat image looks used only to show design layouts, not functioning websites.
Client chooses a version of option #3, with modifications, and process proceeded to programming stage.
|
| |
| MSD presents functioning version of the approved design for the opening page of the redesigned EPMedSystems website.
Web page included:
- Fully functional Web page, optimized for fast loading time, tested on all common browsers to display correctly
- Flash animation, with file size minimized, and pre-loader (an animation that plays while the Flash file loads)
- Four versions of the site's opening page with the same content, but a different backgound image on the upper right of the page. A webpage randomizer is put in place, so that each time a visiter accesses www.epmedsystems.com, one of the four different versions will display. This give the impression of having a dynamically changing opening page while keeping the content the same.
From here, MSD moves to inner page design phase. |
|
|
|
|
Taking elements from the front page design, MSD creates an inner page template. Compared to the current inner page layout, the redesigned inner page has a cleaner and more open layout.
Client approves, and the inner website page sections are created and a significant amount of content is transferred to the new website.
